He cherished his family very much, especially his six grandchildren for his daily "kid fix". Family time was always important to him and he had always taken the time out of life's busy schedule to spend with family. He was an adventurous man and traveled the world., On April 11, 2010 Kenny was diagnosed with leukemia. He received a bone marrow transplant on October 28 and was in remission until April 24, 2011. We would like to thank all the staff at Avera McKennan Oncology Floor 3 East, ICU, Dougherty Hospice House, Dr. Kelly McCaul and staff, and Sarah (the bone marrow transplant coordinator) for the outstanding support and care. King, and Deacon Tom Bates., In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dougherty Hospice House, Prairie Cancer Center, and NAMI., Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 39 years, Mary (Tindall); two daughters, Jennifer Schiltz and Debbie (Dan) Lewison, both of Sioux Falls; son, Danny Schiltz, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren, Kendra, Braiden, Katie, Aaron, Hannah and Sara; mother, Kathryn Schiltz, Sisseton, SD; two brothers, Richard (Marcia) Schiltz, Sisseton, SD, Jim Schiltz, Sisseton, SD; four sisters, Karen Senior, Freeport, IL, Linda (Dean) Frideres, LuVerne, IA, Ruth (JD) Taylor, Indianola, IA Susan (Tim) Day, Urbandale, IA; many nieces, nephews, dear friends and relatives., Kenny was preceded in death by his father Marlin Schiltz and Aunt Sissy Kacmarynski., A complete obituary and online registry is available at www.georgeboom.com.
